Quilts Round 28: The Energy of Caracas
06 August 2025
Jessica Ogden, a passionate quilt and patchwork designer, also nicknamed “The Patchwork Queen” started this project with A.P.C. founder jean Touitou. Inspired by the years of archived A.P.C. fabrics available to work with and trying to find a way to recycle them.
Jessica Ogden began collaborating with A.P.C. in 2000, and it was in 2011 that she started designing quilts. From her studio in Jamaica, Ogden reworks A.P.C.’s Surplus fabrics to create exclusive editions of quilts and cushions.
“I work to a limited edition of 30 pieces per round. Each season might have a new inspiration, but the use of fabric always comes back to how much stock there is. (Jean’s) inspiration came from his mother, Odette, who was a keen quilter.” -) J.O. on how quilts started.
Each Quilt is hand-stitched by patchwork artisans from the Bangalore region of India. “We both have a love of hand stitching, and over this time have collaborated on many things, from the odd t-shirt mended on holidays, to teaching Jean’s daughter Lily to sew many years ago. Our work together has been eclectic, creative and fun.”
