A.P.C. Play It Like Liam

08 October 2024

The surprise reunion of the British band Oasis at the end of the summer, and the global excitement that followed, has brought one of men’s fashion staples back into the spotlight: the parka. This iconic piece is now at the center of a revival that social media, already over the "brat summer" has quickly dubbed "bloke autumn".

Liam Gallagher, famously inspired by Quadrophenia (1979)—the movie about The Who, where Vespa-riding mods are rarely seen without their oversized parkas—also credits Paul Weller, frontman of The Jam and a leading figure in the 1980s mod revival, as a major influence. Two good reasons to make this coat the cornerstone of a uniform inextricably tied to the Mancunian duo’s look, alongside the bucket hat and Harrington jacket.

Beyond that, this is a look that A.P.C. fans seem to appreciate just as much. Since 1987, Jean Touitou, founder of A.P.C., has consistently offered takes on this British pop icon. In just this latest season, the Fall/Winter 2024 collection features four unisex models (Austin, Antonin, Antonny, and Benoît), along with various parka-inspired outerwear - perfect for getting into the mood for the summer 2025 concert season. And for those who can’t make the shows, it offers a chance to adopt the Gallagher brothers' look while staying warm and stylishly protected against the unpredictable whims of winter.
